Katni- a town located on the banks of Katni River in Madhya Pradesh. It is one of the 51 districts of Madhya Pradesh state in central India. 
Katni is famous for its Cement & Limestone & Fireclay industries.

HOW TO REACH KATNI?

By Road- Katni is well connected with State and National Highways.
By Rail- Katni is one of the major Railway Junctions of the Country. It is well connected with almost all the places of India through Train Connectivity.

KTE is the railway code of Katni. There are 2 more railways stations in Katni i.e. Katni Murwara (KMZ) and Katni South (KTES).

By Air- There is no Airport in Katni. Jabalpur Airport is the nearest airport which is around 107 kms from Katni.

WHAT ARE THE BEST PLACES TO VISIT IN KATNI?

1) Vijayraghavgarh Fort

It is one of the oldest and most beautiful forts in the state. The fort stands as a proud remnant of the history and is built from lime and sand stones. It’s crumbling walls and cultural bathed in rich history would not fail to seek you attention.

2) Bahoriband

This is a place of remarkable religious significance with it’s major attraction i.e. 12 feet statue of Jain Teerthankar Shantinath. A stone with the paintings of all the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu has also been found there which shrouds the place in mystery and wonder.

3) Mukundpur White Tiger Safari

When speaking of white tigers, Madhya Pradesh is the place that quickly comes in mind. MP is known to be one of the gifted places when it is about being home to most of the royal creatures. Mukundpur is located in Satna District of Madhya Pradesh. The beauty of village is embraced by water bodies on one side and forests on the other.


Visit Mukundpur and enjoy the mesmerizing view of white tigers and I recommend you buying some locally handcrafted goods made of bamboos as the perfect souvenir one might get from Mukukndpur.

4) Jabalpur

Jabalpur is also know as the land of rocks. It is 58 kms away from Katni and it takes exactly 58 minutes to reach there, sounds amazing right?
Jabalpur is located on the shores of River Narmada. The major tourist attractions in Jabalpur are Madan Mahal Fort, Rani Durgavati Museum, Chausath Yogini Temple, Balancing Rocks etc.

5) Bhedaghat

Bhedaghat is a town situated around 20 kms away from Jabalpur. The main attraction of Bhedaghat is Dhuadhar Falls and Marble Rocks. Dhuadhar Falls is also known as Smoke Cascade as has a smoke-flow like feeling. The tranquillity of the fall mesmerizes the tourists and gives them a splendid experience. There are various bollywod movies that have been shot at the Marble Rocks of Bhedaghat and Mehenjo Daro is one of those movies.

6) Karaundi

Karaundi is a small village in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh. The heart of India is located in Karaundi which means that this village is the Center Point of India. The beautiful monument in the picture below is said to be the Geographical Point of India.

Apart from these, Bandhavgarh National Park, Biruhali Resort, Kanha National Park, Vasudha Waterfall, Roopnath, Kymore are must visit places near Katni. Also, Surmaya Park, Jagriti Park, Kaali Mandir( with a mesmerizing view of Sunset) are some beautiful places in Katni.

Teori is also one of the famous places in Katni District. And, you know what it is famous for? “Bhutta” yes you read absolutely correct. In rainy season, you can find hundreds of little shops/tents on both the sides of Highways embraced by beautiful sunset view in the evening.
